Fanhome Launches Spider-Man Masterpiece Collection, Building a Massive Hardcover History of the Web-Slinger

Alright, web-heads, this one is aimed directly at the part of your brain that sees a matching hardcover set on a shelf and immediately starts calculating available space. Fanhome has announced the Spider-Man Masterpiece Collection, a subscription-based library of full-color hardcover graphic novels built around decades of Spider-Man stories from Marvel Comics.

Each volume runs more than 120 pages and comes with an introduction designed to put the featured story into context, identify the major characters and explain where it sits in Spider-Man history. Fanhome says selected books will also include extras such as variant covers and artist sketches. Put the volumes together on a shelf and the spines create one continuous Spider-Man image stretching from the famous spider bite into the modern Spider-Verse era.

The collection reaches all the way back to the original Amazing Spider-Man material, including the Stan Lee era, while also moving into major modern stories and runs. Fanhome specifically highlights material connected to Brand New Day, Kraven’s Last Hunt, Torment, Spider-Man: Blue, Spider-Verse, Spider-Geddon and End of the Spider-Verse. Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Ultimate Spider-Man and other members of the wider Spider-family are part of the plan as well.

That means the creative bench gets ridiculous pretty quickly. Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, John Romita, Todd McFarlane, J.M. DeMatteis, J. Michael Straczynski, Dan Slott, Jonathan Hickman, John Romita Jr., Joe Quesada, Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale are among the creators represented across the material Fanhome is spotlighting. The collection also reaches into major Marvel events and eras tied to Spider-Man, including the black suit, Secret Wars, the New Avengers and Civil War.

There is also a Premium Offer for collectors who want to go deeper. That extension adds eight oversized Spider-Man Annual hardcovers collecting material from Annuals #1-47, covering stories originally published from the 1960s through the 1990s. Those books are intended to fill in additional milestones, standalone adventures, origin material and bonus art alongside the main collection.

This is obviously not a casual little stack of books. Fanhome is building a long-form Spider-Man library designed to move from the character’s earliest years through decades of reinvention, major villains, alternate Spider-heroes and multiverse insanity. For collectors who like uniform editions and readers who want a guided tour through Spidey’s publishing history, there is a lot to dig through here.

Subscription and sign-up information for the Spider-Man Masterpiece Collection is available through Fanhome. If your shelves are already screaming for mercy, fam, you may want to measure twice before Peter Parker moves in.
