Hellstones: Into the Fray Brings Supernatural Action, Dark Fantasy, and Indie Comic Fire to Kickstarter

W. Frank Walk and Pigmacast Studio launch Book 1 of Hellstones, a creator-owned supernatural action comic where ancient power, corporate greed, and religious manipulation collide.

W. Frank Walk, creator, writer, and colorist of Hellstones, has officially launched the Kickstarter campaign for Hellstones: Into the Fray, Book 1 of the supernatural action comic series from Pigmacast Studio, LLC.

The campaign is now live on Kickstarter and features digital and physical editions of Hellstones: Into the Fray, variant covers, collector bundles, and add-ons for Book 0: Hellstones: Echoes Across Eternity, the prologue issue that introduces readers to Sam and the terrifying power at the heart of the series.

Hellstones: Into the Fray follows Sam, a guarded, sharp-tongued survivor who has spent years staying hidden after being trained by Garry, her mentor and father figure. Garry taught her how to survive the dangers surrounding the Hellstones, seven ancient stones that grant terrifying abilities to those bonded with them. But when Sam senses that Garry and his Hellstone may be in danger, hiding is no longer an option.

Her search drags her straight into a violent supernatural conflict built on ancient power, corporate ambition, and religious manipulation. On one side stands Lucient Holdings, a powerful corporation led by Damien Voss, publicly selling innovation and philanthropy while privately hunting the Hellstones for something much darker. On the other side are The Light Bringers, a massive religious movement led by Joseph and Marian Smith, preaching salvation and divine purpose while using Hellstone power to grow their influence, wealth, and control.

The Light Bringers preach salvation. Lucient Holdings sells tomorrow. Sam is caught in the middle, and fam, tomorrow is looking real ugly.

Blending the supernatural grit of Constantine, the adventure edge of Tomb Raider, and the violent power struggle of The Darkness, Hellstones delivers a creator-owned indie comic packed with mystery, action, moral complexity, and real-world bite. At its core, the series is about power: who has it, who wants it, who abuses it, and what it costs to stand against it.

Sam is not your clean-cut chosen-one hero. She is scrappy, sarcastic, foul-mouthed, wounded, and slow to trust. She grew up in the foster system, survived on the streets, and learned the hard way that power always comes with a price. She does not see herself as a savior. She keeps moving because someone has to stop the wrong people from taking control of the stones.

Pigmacast Studio, LLC is also building beyond Hellstones as a larger creative brand focused on comics, color, design, and independent storytelling. One of its additional projects, PigmaPrism, is a desktop color visualization tool designed to help artists explore color, light, palettes, and visual analysis in a hands-on way.

Digital promo copies of Hellstones: Echoes Across Eternity #0 and Hellstones: Into the Fray #1 are available for podcast hosts, interviewers, reviewers, and media contacts looking to cover the campaign. Early praise for Hellstones #0 has already spotlighted the series’ worldbuilding, tone, and visual power.
