Drova Review: Finally Running the Way It Should
·Gabriel Mateo

When the hardware catches up, the game delivers everything it promised.
Drova on stronger hardware finally feels like the full game. I’ve played it on Steam Deck, Switch, and my older mobile device. On that older device the game actually delivered everything it promised. The only real problem was the memory leak. Some sessions lasted twenty minutes. Some lasted five. Everything else about the gameplay worked the way it should.
The devs were releasing patches trying to fix issues throughout the game’s life. They stayed active with updates and stability work even if the memory leak never fully went away. They deserve credit for that. They didn’t abandon the game. They kept pushing improvements.

On stronger hardware the whole experience finally comes together. No crashes. No slowdowns. No performance drop over time. Combat stays responsive. The world loads clean. The atmosphere hits the way the devs intended. The pixel art looks sharper and the darker tone comes through better.
The world is still the strongest part. The factions feel alive. The choices matter. The setting has weight. On Switch it looked softer. On Steam Deck it was solid but not as crisp. On stronger mobile hardware the colors and lighting stand out more and the details are easier to appreciate.

Combat stays simple but satisfying. It’s about timing and positioning. When the performance is stable the fights feel fair and consistent. Progression starts slow but once your build comes together the game opens up. Drova finally feels complete when the hardware can keep up. The only thing that ever held it back was stability. Once that’s gone the game shows its real potential.
Gaming Crusaders Score
4 / 5
Drova is a rewarding dark RPG that finally delivers its full promise on capable hardware. A memory leak held it back on older devices, but the devs stayed committed and kept patching. On the right machine, this one is worth your time.
