Jim Lee’s Marvel Era Gets The Deluxe Art Book Treatment And Collectors Better Start Stretching Their Wallets
Pan-Universal Galactic Worldwide teams with Marvel Comics for Marvel Artist Archive: Jim Lee, a massive oversized hardcover celebrating the superstar artist’s legendary Marvel work, coming soon to Kickstarter.
Wepa, fam… this is one of those announcements that makes comic art collectors sit up straight like somebody just opened a longbox full of holy relics.
Pan-Galactic Universal Worldwide, also known as PUG-W, has announced its latest collaboration with Marvel Comics: MARVEL ARTIST ARCHIVE: JIM LEE, the first volume in a brand-new line of deluxe art books spotlighting legendary creators and their impact on the medium.
And who better to kick this off than Jim Lee? Come on now. That is not an opening act. That is walking into Madison Square Garden with the pyro already going off.
This oversized 300-page hardcover will dive deep into Lee’s Marvel work, covering everything from Punisher War Journal to Alpha Flight, from Uncanny X-Men to Heroes Reborn Fantastic Four, plus rarities, trading card art, covers, process material, and all kinds of visual goodies that’ll have fans yelling, “Yo, I remember that!” while carefully turning pages like they’re handling museum artifacts.
Jim Lee’s Marvel run wasn’t just good. It was era-defining. His linework had that sharp, kinetic, “every panel is about to throw hands” energy. The dude didn’t just draw superheroes he made them look like they were late to save the universe and still somehow had time to pose for the greatest cover of your childhood. That’s a skill, papi.

“I’ve had the great honor of working directly with Jim over the years, so I’ve experienced up close what a supreme level of talent he’s brought to the comics he’s worked on,” said PUG-W’s founder John Nee, “so it’s a special thrill to be able to pay tribute to both the man himself and his amazing body of Marvel work in this special edition.”
Adding even more weight to the project, writer, editor, and historian Stuart Moore will provide historical context, background, research, and brand-new interviews exploring Jim Lee’s artistic development during his Marvel years. Moore’s work will sit alongside process art, finished pieces, and a serious lineup of covers, giving readers more than just pretty pictures. This is the behind-the-curtain stuff. The “how the magic got made” sauce.
“Jim has been one of the finest, most accomplished, and versatile artists in the field for decades,” says Writer Stuart Moore. “With this book, people can see where it all beganand just how quickly he rose to superstar status.”
The book is designed by Blaise Sewell and will arrive as a 9” x 12”, 300-page visual showcase built to honor Lee’s massive contribution to comics. Translation? Clear space on the shelf. Maybe reinforce it too. This ain’t some tiny pamphlet trying to act important. This is a deluxe hardcover with presence. The kind of book you place on the table and suddenly the room gets quiet.
And because PUG-W knows collectors like their campaigns with some extra seasoning, the Kickstarter will include rewards and add-ons tied to Lee’s artwork, including exclusive portfolio prints, mini-covers featuring a wide range of his legendary covers packed into a custom mini shortbox, and other campaign-exclusive collectibles.
So yeah, this is not just another art book. This is a celebration of a Marvel era, a tribute to one of the most influential artists in modern comics, and a big shiny reminder that Jim Lee’s impact didn’t just happen it exploded.
Fans can sign up now for updates at the pre-launch page for MARVEL ARTIST ARCHIVE: JIM LEE, with the Kickstarter campaign set to launch on July 14, 2026.
Collectors, historians, Jim Lee diehards, X-Men heads, Punisher fans, art lovers, everybody pull up.
This one’s looking like a must-own.
