Miracleman Joins the Avengers in Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s Avengers #1

Crusaders, Marvel just dropped the final piece of its new Avengers lineup, and this one comes with enough power to make the team’s insurance company immediately stop answering the phone. Miracleman is joining Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers #1, the new series from Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto arriving November 4.
This is David Colton, the former Captain America introduced during Zdarsky’s Captain America run, carrying the Miracleman legacy after the events of Avengers: Armageddon #4. He joins Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Wolverine and Luke Cage as Marvel launches a new Avengers era in the aftermath of Armageddon.

And the timing could not be messier. The world has turned against the Avengers just as a demonic invasion erupts, forcing a team the public no longer trusts to save everybody anyway. The bigger wild card is Colton himself. Marvel is already teasing whether somebody newly armed with godlike abilities can actually be trusted when the pressure hits.
The reveal also comes with a stack of new covers, including work from Artgerm, Skottie Young, Jim Cheung, Julian Totino Tedesco, Kaare Andrews and Mark Spears. Marvel’s True Believers Blind Bags will contain exclusive variants not available through regular ordering, with additional surprise covers and one-of-a-kind sketch covers potentially mixed in.

One important note for collectors: Marvel issued a correction to the promotional material for the Mark Spears and Alan Davis variants. The corrected versions supplied by Marvel are the ones Comic Crusaders is using here.
Writer: Chip Zdarsky
Artist and Main Cover: Marco Checchetto
Publisher: Marvel Comics
On Sale: November 4, 2026
Zdarsky and Checchetto already make this a book worth watching, but dropping Miracleman into an Avengers roster alongside Wolverine, Daredevil, Spider-Man, Luke Cage and Captain Marvel turns the volatility knob way the hell up. November 4 cannot get here fast enough. Wepa!
