THE BLOOD OF DAWNWALKER SINKS ITS TEETH INTO ONE MILLION SALES IN JUST TWO DAYS!

Rebel Wolves’ debut RPG has crossed one million copies sold almost immediately, giving the former CD Projekt Red veterans one hell of an opening chapter.
Gamers, this one came out of the crypt swinging. The Blood of Dawnwalker launched on September 3, and just two days later Rebel Wolves confirmed that its debut title had already sold more than one million copies worldwide. That is not a slow burn. That is a brand-new vampire franchise kicking the castle doors open and announcing that it belongs in the conversation.
The milestone is especially impressive because The Blood of Dawnwalker is neither a sequel nor a decades-old franchise with a built-in audience. This is a fresh IP from a new studio, even if that studio carries serious RPG blood in its veins. Rebel Wolves was founded by veterans of CD Projekt Red, including developers who helped shape The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, so expectations were already high. One million sales in two days shows players were willing to put real money behind that pedigree.
As Rely on Horror reported, the game’s official account announced the million-copy milestone on September 5 and thanked the community for playing and supporting the release. Steam activity backs up the heat. SteamDB recorded a peak approaching 80,000 concurrent players, while the game has maintained a positive user reception through thousands of early reviews.
That does not mean the launch has been flawless. Players have flagged performance problems, optimization concerns and bugs, and Rebel Wolves has already released Hotfix 1.0.2 across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The patch addresses quest progression, tutorial behavior and PC controller input issues, with additional known problems still under investigation. Selling a million copies is the headline, but how quickly the studio stabilizes the experience will help determine whether this opening rush becomes long-term momentum.
The hook goes beyond “former Witcher developers made another dark RPG.” Players control Coen, a human by day and vampire by night, while trying to save his family inside a thirty-day narrative structure. Decisions consume time, quests can change depending on when and how they are approached, and the world is designed to react to the player instead of waiting politely for every marker on the map to be cleared.
That structure gives Dawnwalker its own identity. The comparisons to The Witcher 3 are inevitable, but the day-and-night transformation, the time-as-currency system and the freedom to reshape the story give Rebel Wolves a real lane to build on. According to Bandai Namco’s official launch information, this is intended to be the first chapter of a larger saga that could eventually move into new eras and cultures.
One million copies does not automatically crown a franchise, and early sales do not erase technical complaints. What it does prove is that the appetite was real. Rebel Wolves introduced a new world, asked players to take a chance, and received the kind of opening most debut studios can only dream about.
The Blood of Dawnwalker did not wait for nightfall to become dangerous. The game is already feeding, the player count is alive, and a million copies later, this new RPG saga is officially FUEGO.
