Dark Horse’s MINOR THREATS: THE CLEANER Turns Superhero Cleanup Into a Blood-Soaked Noir Nightmare

·Al Mega

Gerry Duggan, Patton Oswalt, Jordan Blum, and Mark Torres return to Twilight City for a brutal four-issue series where the real work begins after the capes leave the crime scene.

Dark Horse Comics is heading back into the wonderfully messed-up world of Minor Threats, and this time the spotlight lands on the guy who gets called when superheroes make a problem too ugly to explain.

MINOR THREATS: THE CLEANER is a new four-issue noir series from writers Gerry Duggan, Patton Oswalt, and Jordan Blum, with Mark Torres handling the artwork, colors, and design. Nate Piekos joins the creative team on lettering.

The Cleaner first appeared in the anthology From the World of Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight, but this new series is being built as a fresh entry point for both longtime fans and readers who have never stepped foot in Twilight City. And trust me, Twilight City is not exactly giving “safe neighborhood with good schools.”

It is a hard place to live and an even easier place to die. When heroes and villains leave behind a body, a crime scene, or a mess too dangerous to reach the evening news, one number gets called.

The Cleaner.

By day, David O’Halloran is a struggling small-business owner trying to keep the lights on. By night, he handles the superhero world’s dirtiest work, quietly disposing of bodies nobody else can move, bury, or even begin to explain. No spotlight. No applause. Just precision, secrecy, and a bill at the end.

Things get even messier when David crosses paths with Diamond Dahlia, a glamorous and deadly woman carrying a dangerous connection to the legendary vigilante known as The Insomniac. Whatever happened between them is not staying buried, and the fallout is headed straight for the blood-soaked streets of Twilight City.

“When Gerry and Mark introduced The Cleaner in Welcome To Twilight, we knew there were more bodies buried in that fertile ground,” Blum said.

According to Blum, the series will deliver something personal, twisted, pulpy, and emotional, all wrapped inside a corner of the superhero genre fans rarely get to see.

That is the real hook here.

Most superhero stories focus on the punch, the explosion, and the big dramatic victory pose. THE CLEANER asks what happens five minutes later, after everybody flies home and some poor soul has to figure out what to do with the wreckage.

Yeah, fam. Somebody has to mop that floor.

The series also comes loaded with cover talent. Issue #1 will feature artwork by Scott Hepburn, Mark Torres, Subversive Girl, Declan Shalvey, and Jae Lee.

With a noir-heavy setup, a grounded lead, and a world full of broken heroes and dangerous secrets, MINOR THREATS: THE CLEANER looks ready to dig into the side of superhero life nobody wants to talk about.

Because in Twilight City, saving the day is easy.

Cleaning it up is where the real nightmare begins.

MINOR THREATS: THE CLEANER #1 arrives in comic shops on November 11, 2026, priced at $4.99. Preorders are open now through local comic shops.
