Dungeons & Daddies Drops an Isekai 5E Sourcebook, and Season 1 Just Got Dragged Into Fantasy Chaos

·Al Mega

The dads are back, the dice are out, and the chaos has officially entered the group chat with a 5E-compatible sourcebook built like a fantasy road trip gone beautifully off the rails.

The crew behind Dungeons and Daddies is bringing the madness from the podcast table to your actual gaming table with their first official tabletop RPG sourcebook, Dungeons and Daddies: Not a BDSM Sourcebook.

Created by the team behind the hit improvised comedy podcast hosted by Anthony Burch, Freddie Wong, Matthew Arnold, Beth May, and Will Campos, this new book is designed as both a fully playable 5E-compatible campaign setting and an in-universe artifact. Translation? You can run it, read it, laugh at it, and probably question every life choice that got your party here.

The book expands the world of Season 1, where four suburban dads get yanked into a fantasy realm and have to rescue their kids while making the kind of decisions that make Dungeon Masters reach for aspirin.

Since launching in 2019, Dungeons and Daddies has built a loyal fanbase with improvised comedy, emotional storytelling, and beautifully questionable choices. Now that energy is getting bottled into a sourcebook loaded with classes, subclasses, spells, items, monsters, adventures, and a whole lot of dad-powered nonsense.

The crowdfunding campaign launches July 21 on BackerKit.

Structured like a chaotic road trip through weird, half-remembered locations, the book presents itself as a “found” survival guide written by multiple conflicting voices. So yes, it sounds messy. That is clearly the point. Respectfully, this thing is built like a minivan with emotional damage and magical horsepower.

“This sourcebook is our podcast’s humble offering to the learned world of letters, and we believe it will provide both TTRPG players, fans, and DMs alike a fresh new perspective on how to approach their sessions. Additionally, this sourcebook has been designed from the ground up to be THE premier experience for reading material while on the toilet. We achieve this with funny words, colorful pictures, and tables full of different numbers.” Freddie Wong, Cast Member on Dungeons and Daddies Podcast

The campaign will also include optional add-ons like dice sets, in-universe props, and physical goodies that expand the podcast’s world for fans who want the full “my shelf is now judging me” experience.

Key Features Include:

  • Travel to iconic locations like Ballsdeep, Roqueporte, and Meth Bay on a fantasy road trip spanning levels 1-20.
  • Choose dad-flavored character options and Daddy Magic-infused subclasses, including Garden Witch and Unfortunate Foster Child.
  • Master the mysterious art of Daddy Magic and cast over 30 new spells, including the incredibly useful Speak Japanese.
  • Customize your own minivan. You can use it in combat, but the book warns you probably should not, unless your party enjoys becoming a cautionary tale.
  • Solve hidden puzzles so devious they could only have been created by Scam Likely.
  • Visit fully franchised Bull-E-Wugs locations, because apparently even fantasy chaos needs branding.

“If you’re new to roleplaying, this book is for you. If you’re an experienced roleplayer who doesn’t super-duper care about rules, this book is for you. If you get irritated when someone rolls a skill check when it should have been an ability save, you should probably rip this book into individual pages, papier mache those pages into a knife, and stab the person who recommended this book to you with it.” – Anthony Burch, Daddy Master of Dungeons and Daddies Podcast

Dungeons and Daddies: Not a BDSM Sourcebook will be available through an upcoming crowdfunding campaign launching on July 21.
