Rocketship Entertainment and Moulin Rouge® Step Into the Spotlight with New Graphic Novels, Manga, and Games
The multi-year partnership will bring the legendary Paris cabaret into comics, manga, and tabletop gaming with original stories inspired by its iconic world.
Rocketship Entertainment is pulling back the red curtain on a major new creative partnership with Moulin Rouge®, the legendary Parisian cabaret whose name has been tied to spectacle, glamour, performance, and artistic rebellion for more than a century. Under the multi-year agreement, Rocketship will develop and publish original graphic novels, manga, and tabletop games inspired by the world of Moulin Rouge®.
Now, let’s be real — this is not your average “brand partnership” where somebody slaps a logo on a box and calls it a day. Moulin Rouge® has history. It has drama. It has feathers, lights, music, movement, mystery, and enough visual flavor to make any artist’s sketchbook start sweating. Founded in 1889 during the Belle Époque era, the Moulin Rouge became famous as the birthplace of the can-can and grew into a global symbol of Parisian nightlife and creative audacity.
That makes it prime territory for comics, manga, and tabletop gaming. Rocketship Entertainment, known for publishing premium graphic novels and games, now gets to explore that world through new stories, new characters, and new ways for fans to step into the spotlight.
Rocketship CEO and Publisher Tom Akel called Moulin Rouge® more than a venue, describing it as a cultural touchstone filled with glamour, spectacle, beauty, and artistry. And honestly? He is not wrong. This is the kind of setting that practically begs for big emotions, lavish visuals, secret romances, backstage tension, ambitious performers, dangerous rivals, and stories that feel like champagne with a switchblade hidden in the glass.
Eloïse Daire, Director of Development and Partnerships for Moulin Rouge®, also emphasized that storytelling has always been central to the Moulin Rouge experience, with live performances bringing emotion and spectacle to audiences every night. Through Rocketship, that tradition now expands into sequential art and gaming, giving creators a fresh playground to reinterpret the venue’s rich creative universe.
Creative teams for the upcoming graphic novels and manga, along with details for the tabletop games, will be announced later. Rocketship’s releases are distributed worldwide by Simon & Schuster in the book market, Lunar Distribution in the direct market, and PSI for mass market and hobby gaming.
So yeah, fam, comics, manga, tabletop games, and Moulin Rouge®? That is not just a partnership. That is a whole stage waiting for the curtain to rise.
