TRIPLE H JUST ENTERED THE SPIDER-VERSE WITH HIS OWN STORY IN AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1000!

WWE’s chief creative authority joins artist Ed McGuinness for “The Big Night” as Marvel’s landmark issue passes 400,000 orders before release.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque has booked WrestleManias, rebuilt NXT, taken control of WWE creative and spent decades perfecting the art of making an entrance. Now The Game is walking through another curtain, and Spider-Man is waiting on the other side.
Marvel has revealed that Triple H wrote an original story for Amazing Spider-Man #1000. Titled “The Big Night,” the anniversary tale features artwork from Ed McGuinness and will appear when the enormous milestone issue reaches comic shops on September 30.
Let that combination breathe for a moment, fam. Marvel paired one of professional wrestling’s most influential creative executives with an artist whose characters look like they could bench-press the Daily Bugle building. If Peter Parker comes through the curtain with Motörhead blasting and a sledgehammer in his hand, nobody can claim the warning signs were not there.
The joke writes itself, but the creative crossover is legitimate. Triple H has spent years shaping characters, rivalries and long-form narratives for WWE. Professional wrestling and superhero comics share the same storytelling DNA: colorful identities, dramatic betrayals, impossible recoveries and villains convinced they are the hero of their own story.
Marvel has not disclosed the plot of “The Big Night.” Spider-Man’s origin famously includes Peter entering a wrestling exhibition before his failure to stop a thief helps set the tragedy of Uncle Ben’s death in motion. That history makes a wrestling-focused story possible, but Marvel has not confirmed that Triple H’s contribution revisits it.
WWE Director of Character Development Rob Fee is also listed among the issue’s writers. Fee previously wrote for Marvel before joining WWE, although the available preview does not identify which story includes his contribution.
Triple H enters an absolutely stacked creative card. The anniversary lineup includes Joe Kelly, Pepe Larraz, Frank Miller, Peach Momoko, Brian Michael Bendis, Stuart Immonen, Dan Slott, Marcos Martin, J.M. DeMatteis, Humberto Ramos, Noah Hawley, Patrick Gleason, Larry Lieber and Giuseppe Camuncoli.
Kelly and Larraz lead the issue with “Ravaged,” introducing the new villain Ravage while addressing the medical crisis involving Aunt May. Additional stories revisit Uncle Ben, Harry Osborn, the Hand, the Avengers and an older Peter Parker reflecting on his life.
The milestone is already moving serious numbers. Marvel says retailers have ordered more than 400,000 copies, and a second printing featuring sketch versions of covers by John Romita Jr. and Pepe Larraz is scheduled for October 28.
Triple H is not the first professional wrestler to enter Marvel’s writers’ room. CM Punk previously contributed to Thor Annual #1 and co-wrote a Drax series, while Raven worked with Brian Azzarello on a wrestling-centered issue of Spider-Man’s Tangled Web. Levesque’s appearance nevertheless lands on a much larger stage because Marvel is placing his name inside Spider-Man’s 1,000th issue.
“The Big Night” may turn out to be a serious character piece, a celebration of Spider-Man’s wrestling roots or something completely unexpected. Until Marvel reveals more, the only responsible move is to avoid fantasy booking the plot.
What we know is already wild enough. Triple H has spent his career telling stories inside the squared circle. On September 30, he gets to call the match for Marvel’s wall-crawler.
