AMC Global Media Storms Comic-Con International With Must-See Panels, Fan Screening & Major Fan Experiences

AMC Global Media is heading back to Comic-Con International in San Diego, and this year the lineup is stacked enough to make Hall H feel like the final boss battle of fandom.

From The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 to The Vampire Lestat, AMC+’s new mystery series YAGA, and Shudder’s horror-heavy presence across multiple panels, AMC is bringing the kind of genre energy that makes Comic-Con feel like Comic-Con. Zombies, vampires, witches, horror icons, sneak peeks, fan screenings — yeah, AMC understood the assignment.

The Walking Dead: Dead City will take over Hall H on Friday, July 24, from 11:45am to 12:30pm, with cast and executive producers gathering to celebrate the upcoming third season, which premieres Sunday, July 26 on AMC and AMC+. The panel will feature Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan, Aimee Garcia, Raúl Castillo, showrunner and executive producer Seth Hoffman, and executive producer Scott Gimple, with Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross moderating the conversation.

Season three finds Maggie and Negan finally putting their brutal history aside in an attempt to build the first thriving community in Manhattan since the apocalypse. Of course, this is The Walking Dead, so peace does not exactly come with a welcome basket and a deli sandwich. As chaos starts ripping through the city, Maggie and Negan are forced to face the big question: have they actually learned from the wounds of the past, or are those same scars about to doom everything they are trying to build?

Comic-Con attendees will also have a shot at seeing the season premiere early during a special advance fan screening on Friday, July 24, at The Loft at Petco Park from 6:30pm to 8:30pm PT. The screening will be introduced by members of the cast and creative team.

Right after Dead City brings the apocalypse to Hall H, The Vampire Lestat takes the stage on Friday, July 24, from 12:30pm to 1:15pm. This marks a major Comic-Con moment for AMC’s Anne Rice universe, with The Vampire Lestat descending on Hall H for the first time.

The panel will include Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, creator and showrunner Rolin Jones, executive producer Mark Johnson, and executive producer Hannah Moscovitch. Rotten Tomatoes’ Jacqueline Coley will moderate the discussion, which will dig into the season finale and feature highlights from The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only Live, the music performance featuring original songs from composer Daniel Hart and performed by Sam Reid as Lestat.

This season follows Lestat as he launches into an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by “muses” from his wild and rebellious past. As his fame grows, so does his influence over vampires and humans alike. That power shift comes at a dangerous time, with the Great Conversion causing an unnatural surge in the vampire population. Basically, Lestat is not just performing for the crowd anymore — he may be reshaping the whole supernatural power structure while the amps are still hot.

AMC+ will also give Comic-Con attendees a first look at YAGA, its new bewitching mystery series. The panel takes place Saturday, July 25, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm in the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront.

The YAGA panel will feature Noah Reid, Clark Backo, Carrie-Anne Moss, and showrunner/executive producer Kat Sandler, with Damian Holbrook of TV Guide Magazine and TV Insider moderating. Attendees can expect a sneak preview of the new AMC+ series.

Based on Sandler’s play, YAGA reimagines the Slavic folk tale of Baba Yaga as a contemporary mystery thriller. The story follows Rapp, a private investigator who arrives in a small coastal town to investigate the disappearance of Henry Park, the young heir to a powerful fishery. Once there, Rapp finds himself tangled up with a wary local detective, a magnetic university professor, a town full of secrets, and something ancient lurking under the surface. You know, normal small-town stuff. Very “come for the missing person case, stay because the folklore might eat you.”

AMC and Shudder will also be part of two major horror-focused panels during Comic-Con.

The Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror 10th Anniversary Panel takes place Friday, July 24, from 4:45pm to 5:45pm in Room 6A. Deborah Ann Woll, star of Shudder’s upcoming film The Cycle, and Dan Stevens, star of AMC’s The Terror: Devil in Silver, will join leading horror voices for a conversation about the state of indie and studio horror, with exclusive footage and a look at what is coming next for the genre.

Later that night, First in Fright with FANGORIA takes over Room 23ABC from 8:00pm to 9:00pm. Since 1979, FANGORIA has been the blood-soaked bible for horror fans, and this panel will bring the brand’s legacy to Comic-Con with special guests, exclusive sneak peeks, surprises, and updates tied to this year’s FANGORIA Chainsaw Awards, streaming exclusively on Shudder on Sunday, October 25. Devon Sawa, star of Shudder’s Hell Motel: Murder at Red Mountain, is among the guests scheduled to appear.

AMC Global Media is clearly not coming to San Diego to casually wave from the sidelines. They are bringing zombies, vampires, witches, horror icons, fan screenings, first looks, and enough genre goodness to keep fans running from room to room like they just heard someone yell “exclusive footage.”

Comic-Con International is already chaos in the best way possible, but AMC just added more fuel to the fandom fire. Wepa, bring comfortable shoes and maybe a wooden stake. Just in case.
