Larry Fessenden Unites His Monsters in Trauma, or Monsters All This November

Larry Fessenden has spent decades giving classic monsters a human pulse. Now the independent horror filmmaker is bringing his vampire, werewolf and Frankenstein creation together in Trauma, or Monsters All, a new feature from Glass Eye Pix and Dark Sky Films.
The film opens November 4, 2026, at New York City’s IFC Center, with cast appearances and a Q&A planned. Los Angeles screenings at Lumiere Music Hall and additional markets follow, before a nationwide video-on-demand release November 24.
This is no random monster mash. Fessenden is drawing threads from his earlier films Habit, Depraved and Blackout into a shared story about the damage people carry and the secrets communities would rather bury. Visiting writer Cassandra, played by Laëtitia Hollard, arrives in Talbot Falls to research George Washington Carver. Her reporting uncovers the town’s troubled past, and the creatures soon emerge from the shadows.
Aitana Doyle, Addison Timlin, Alex Hurt, Alex Breaux, Barbara Crampton and James Le Gros are among the ensemble. Fessenden writes and directs the 119-minute feature, with Gaby Leyner, James Felix McKenney and Tilson Allen-Merry joining him as producers.
IFC Center is also celebrating 40 years of Glass Eye Pix with Optic Nerve: A Tribute to Glass Eye Pix, a seven-film retrospective beginning October 28. The company’s fingerprints are all over modern independent horror, including its collaborations with filmmakers such as Ti West and Jim Mickle.
Fessenden has never been interested in monsters that exist only to jump out of a dark hallway. His creatures have history, pain and consequences. Bringing those worlds together gives horror fans a reason to circle November 4 on the calendar.
Release: November 4, 2026, in select theaters; November 24, 2026, on VOD. Distributor: Dark Sky Films.
