EXCLUSIVE: Wandering Planet Toys Reveals Tnago and Snatoon From THE PLANETOID RAIDERS

Wandering Planet Toys is blasting back into the toy aisle with THE PLANETOID RAIDERS, an original line of retro-style sci-fi action figures inspired by the wonderfully strange cosmic toys of the late 1970s — and Comic Crusaders has an exclusive look at two members of the crew: Tnago and Snatoon.

The Planetoid Raiders channel the spirit of classic 1:18-scale, five-point-articulated figures while embracing the colorful weirdness that made vintage off-brand space toys so memorable. Wandering Planet Toys co-founders Gavin Hignight and Chris “Doc” Wyatt built the line as a tribute to that era without simply recreating it, mixing retro-futuristic designs with a modern collectible sensibility.

The larger crew includes Captain Oton, Helmsman Ryot, first mate Buzz, celestial cartographer Snatoon, security officer Sloog, mysterious space traveler Warlor and the Computational Rapid Assessment Processor robot Yogun. Wandering Planet is also introducing the Arcade Raiders, packaged in retro arcade-cabinet blind boxes, with additional figures planned as Kickstarter funding milestones are reached.

Hignight and Wyatt are professional writers as well as lifelong toy fans. Their credits include projects spanning Iron Man: Armored Adventures, LEGO Ninjago, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, RoboForce: The Animated Series, Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Wandering Planet Toys has previously produced collectible lines based on properties including The Prisoner, Nancy Drew and Laurel & Hardy.

Wave 1 figures will be offered on retro-inspired card backs, with a metal lunchbox-style collector’s case also planned. Kickstarter-exclusive Planetoid Raiders baseball hats are part of the campaign lineup as well.
