Doctor Doom Demands His Due in Marvel’s Most Villainous Volume 2

Dark Horse’s deluxe 376-page hardcover chronicles four decades of Victor Von Doom’s greatest battles, iconic artwork and glorious villainy

Bow before Doom, mi gente! Dark Horse Books is cracking open the Marvel archives to celebrate the armored monarch of Latveria in Marvel’s Most Villainous Volume 2: Doctor Doom, a massive hardcover devoted to one of the most brilliant, dangerous and magnificently arrogant villains ever created.

The second entry in Dark Horse’s archival series exploring Marvel’s baddest characters brings together four decades of landmark stories, original artwork and unforgettable covers featuring Victor Von Doom. Across 376 oversized pages, readers will witness Doom challenge the Fantastic Four, confront some of Marvel’s mightiest heroes and stand toe-to-toe with beings who call themselves gods. Doom probably considers that last group adorable.

Few comic-book villains have commanded the page with the same authority. Doom is a scientific genius, master strategist, powerful sorcerer and ruler of his own nation. He does not simply enter a story. He takes possession of it, redecorates the throne room and reminds everybody that Richards remains beneath him.

The collection explores how Victor Von Doom evolved from the Fantastic Four’s ultimate adversary into one of the most complex and enduring figures in Marvel history. His stories stretch beyond simple battles between hero and villain, digging into ambition, pride, tragedy, power and the dangerous conviction that Doom alone knows what is best for the world.

Dark Horse has assembled one outrageous roster of comic-book royalty for this volume. Featured creators include Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, John Byrne, John Romita Sr., John Romita Jr., Frank Miller, George Pérez, Jim Lee, Alex Ross, Mike Mignola, Esad Ribić, Alex Maleev, Gene Colan, Wallace Wood, Dave Cockrum, Don Heck, John Buscema, Gil Kane, Mike Zeck, Paolo Rivera, Daniel Acuña, Salvador Larroca, Mark Waid, Mike Wieringo, Marv Wolfman, Doug Moench, David Michelinie, Bob Layton and many more.

The hardcover also features historical insight from comics historians Chris Ryall and John Lind, giving readers additional context surrounding Doom’s creation, evolution and lasting impact on the Marvel Universe.

From his legendary wars with Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four to his clashes with Avengers, cosmic powers and supernatural forces, these stories demonstrate why Doom refuses to be confined to the usual villain box. He can be a tyrant, rival, reluctant ally, wounded monarch and savior with an ego large enough to demand its own zip code. Underneath the armor lives a character fueled by brilliance, pain and an absolutely nuclear inability to admit when he might be wrong.

That complexity has allowed Doctor Doom to remain relevant across generations. Heroes change costumes, universes collapse and timelines get rebuilt before lunch, but Doom remains Doom: calculating, commanding and permanently convinced that every catastrophe could have been avoided if everyone had simply listened to him.

Measuring 7.75 by 11 inches, Marvel’s Most Villainous Volume 2: Doctor Doom arrives in bookstores and comic shops on December 22, 2026. The 376-page hardcover will retail for $65.

This is more than a greatest-hits collection. It is an oversized monument to the ambition, menace and creative legacy of Victor Von Doom. Marvel has produced countless villains, but only one rules from a throne, speaks about himself in the third person and somehow makes it look completely reasonable.

Doom has no rivals. Doom requires no introduction. Doom only requires shelf space.

Preorders are available through Dark Horse Direct, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org and participating local comic shops. Readers can also visit Find Your Comic Store to locate a retailer nearby.
